Double Chocolate Walnut Clusters

I am always game to try a new recipe, afraid that the one I pass up might be the one that would prove to be blissful perfection. What if I'd never tried that recipe for those melt-in-your-mouth garlic-cheese rolls? Or for that breakfast condiment to top all breakfast condiments, chocolate butter?

Perish the thought.

So in my never-ending quest to find that perfect recipe, be it for cookies, muffins, chicken, you name it, I invite you along. To experiment with me, to commiserate at the occasional flop, and, mostly, to share and rejoice in the concoctions that make it onto our families' A-lists. You know, those recipes that are supposed to serve eight but that you and I both know are barely enough to feed two.

DOUBLE CHOCOLATE WALNUT CLUSTERS

Here's a recently-discovered keeper. Not only are they tasty and easy, but they're a fine use for any slightly shriveled marshmallows you might have left over from summertime s'more season.

1/3 c. butter
1 c. semi-sweet chocolate chips
16 large marshmallows
1 T. unsweetened cocoa powder
2 c. coarsely chopped walnuts (or pecans)

In large-ish pan over low heat, melt butter, chocolate chips, and marshmallows, stirring often. Once melted, add cocoa powder . Remove from heat, add nuts, mix well, then drop by spoonfuls onto wax paper-lined cookie sheets. Refrigerate until firm.

Hello, blog world

Well okay. Here I go. I'm going to do this blogging thing. I'm about as techno-savvy as a mushroom, so this ought to be interesting. I'm actually still figuring out how to use my cell phone (just today I discovered I can take videos with it, as I tried to turn off the speaker phone and what should turn up but some lovely footage of my finger and the kitchen rug). So like I said. This should be interesting.

My hope is to share some favorite recipes, and to hear about your favorites. Seems like a good excuse for all of us to whip up another batch of brownies, if you ask me.
