Looks like the oatmeal ones I made the other day! Except I know what I did - I wanted a molasses flavor and substituted some for about a 1/2 cup of sugar... Thus screwing up the delicate balance and they turned out flat and liquidy (although still tasty). Next time... Leave the sugar and just add a bit of molasses. Live and learn!
Too bad you don't have chickens they would have loved them. That is one thing I have learned. Oh well, that is part of the fun in cooking, somethings work and some don't.
Chuckle, chuckle, you would not believe the shenanigans that went on here the other day when I attempted to make chocolate chip oatmeal cookies. It's a long story so to cut it short, yours look GORGEOUS!!!
Thanks for sharing, Lynn...I bet they were delicious:)
LOLOL!!! OH NO, Lynn!! I'm afraid that's my recipe, right? What happened? Maybe you put too much dough for each cookie? I'm SO sorry, I hope it wasn't ME somehow! :-(
I didn't mean to laugh, but that picture with the cryptic post just struck me as funny....I'm still very sorry, though! They looked like they TASTED yummy, though.....
Ha, Lisa Diane, no it was not your recipe :) Your recipe looks wonderful, with the added molasses. This was actually one of those put-the-mix-in-a-jar recipes, that are meant to be given away as gifts. I always try them out myself before I'd dream of giving one as a gift, and I suppose I'm glad I did this time ;) But they sure turned out ugly!!
Oh, THANK GOODNESS, Lynn! LOL When I saw the picture, I got a twinge of "uh-oh", thinking YOU were Heather, who commented on my cookies and mentioned trying them....I knew you had commented on my blog before, I just mistook when -- PHEW!! I was feeling bad there for a little bit! :-D
They did get messy, but I'd have a hard time throwing anything away that had CHOCOLATE in it!! :-)
I cook, bake, eat chocolate, and sneak out to Starbucks from northern California, where I live with my family. I wrote a book, Queen of the Castle: 52 Weeks of Encouragement for the Uninspired, Domestically Challenged or Just Plain Tired Homemaker, because I think running a home and loving your family is one of the most important jobs in the world. And some of us? Could use a little help.

Good for you, Meg, in figuring out what went wrong. I have no idea on these ;o New recipe and one I'm throwing straight into the garbage!

Lisa Diane, I didn't say I threw them out :) Ugly or no, I agree, they had chocolate in them, so of course we ate them heartily.
