Frugal Lemonade

If your family eats canned fruit
odds are good that the liquid that's left after you eat the fruit is sugar water. (On store-bought cans, the label will specify the fruit has been canned in "light syrup" or "heavy syrup." That's code for sugar water.)
If you add a squirt of this

you will end up with a nice cold glass of subtly fruity lemonade.

And what could be more frugal?

Delicious.

(Oh. And feel free to add more water if it's too sweet, or more lemon.)

What a fun and easy idea, to take that sweet sticky syrup and make it lemonade. I'm thinking it might be good syrup for mojitos in the summer. . . ah, summer. . .
thanks!

Sounds good...I could use some lemonade right now. The little umbrella made it look so inviting! :)

For some reason drinking lemonade makes me thirsty. I'm not a big fan of lemons but my husband is.

Well. Gracious. I'd have NEVER thought of that, and that is a great thought!

Thanks for posting it! (and thanks for visiting my blog earlier this week, too!)

Hi Lynn! Thanks for visiting my blog. I would NEVER have thought of this, and what a great way to use something I'd have thrown away. Great tip.
