Cheesy Popcorn

There's a chance that by this time in the Christmas season you might be a tad bit tired of sugar and cookies and fudge. Oh my! (I can't believe I'm saying this.) But if the idea of making one more batch of double fudge cookies just does not appeal, try this popcorn as your next snack.

My favorite way to make popcorn is with my hot-air popper. I seem to have better luck with it than with the microwave. All the kernels pop, and you never get a burned piece.

Now onto the directions:

Make one batch popcorn.

Melt 1/4 c. butter. Stir into the butter 1/4 c. Parmesan cheese, 1 t. chili powder, and 1/2 t. salt. Pour over the popcorn and stir to distribute.

So, what's your favorite way to make and serve popcorn?

I love popping popcorn on the stove and serving it as a substitute for chips when we eat sandwiches. I have tossed with dry ranch seasoning or dry BBQ rub and love it both ways.

Thanks so much for visiting and for your sweet comment. I started my blog pretty much for me and another friend, so I don't get a lot of 'traffic'...but I am loving this whole "discovery" of people out there with a certain kinship! I am also lovin' finding your blog...recipes! Hurray! I'll be stalking - oh, I mean "following"!!

Ben and Kristen, what a great idea, to add dry ranch seasoning or bbq rub to your popcorn! I'll be trying those soon :)

Cindy, I agree, it is really fun to "meet" people with common interests through blogging. And to think, I was the one in the family who was reluctant to get the internet a few years back ;o

What a fun little blog you have, Lynn. How did you find mine? I plan to buy your book, as I collect books on homemaking. Hey, what if my legacy is passing down homemaking books? (grin) At least they'll have an assortment to choose from! Seriously, I do enjoy homemaking, and love your humorous approach to it. There's a book I enjoyed a few years back called "Professionalizing Motherhood" that might have been a help to you when you were struggling with the mom vs. career thing. It doesn't seem noble when you're up at 3 am nursing, changing sheets from a sick child, or scrubbing floors. But when we can see past those moments and realize that homemaking is SO much more, it gives great rewards and we can take pleasure doing those mundane tasks. Oh, btw, I've done a similar popcorn recipe to this and it was awesome! I think I used half butter half olive oil and added some garlic powder to the parmesan. Yum! Popcorn is the best! Sorry for the long comment.

Lily of the Valley -- I'm so glad you came by and visited my blog. I LOVE homemaking and am always reading whatever I can find on the topic (books, blogs, magazines). I have the book you mentioned, Professionalizing Motherhood. I collect h'g books, too, and even have a couple (reprints) from the 1800s! We ought to compare lists :) I found your blog through The Chatty Housewife; we both commented on the same post. Thanks again for the visit!
