Oven Joy

There has been a dearth of baking around here -- an absolute dearth, I tell you -- because in the place where my happy little oven should have resided over the last couple weeks was a hole.
A big gaping hole.
Courtesy of oven removal due to a failed heating element discovered while baking French fries a week or so before Christmas.  And since the oven was at least 25 years old -- maybe 50 -- I can't say that the old girl owed us anything.
I should have taken a picture of the big gaping hole, but apparently there is also a dearth of on-the-ball photographers around here.
Anyway.
I tell you this because today, I am inordinately pleased.

Singing softly:  "Someone's got a new oven."

Funny how I don't use my often that often, but when I can't, then suddenly I crave oven-made stuff. :-) Enjoy breaking in the new one!

Thanks, Barbara. I'm so excited I can hardly decide what to bake first.

I like your new oven. I can't imagine trying to live without one but I have know people who do.
I use mine so much and I am pretty partial to it.
Now you can bake up a storm.
I think I would be going on a baking binge.

I just got my oven working yesterday due to a burnt out heating element! Must be the time of year:) I replaced my element but I sure didn't want to. I'd much rather be gas oven shopping but, not until next year, "good Lord willing and the creek don't freeze, the element will last that long, lol...

Congratulations on your new oven, Lynn. When I replaced my element, I baked up some Jumbo Oatmeal Chocolate Chip Cookies! I'd go sweet to begin then gently slip into savory. Whatever you bake, have a ball with your knew oven!!!
