Pears!
A happy August day
and a little of this (roasted pears and red onions -- yum!).
Aaaah. Late summer contentment. Sigh.
NOTE: You'll find an informative article about how to know when pears are ripe from the Oregon State University Extension Service.
You're welcome.

Hi Lynn, I just love pears. We like to bake Comice pears baked in the oven. So yummy. The pears and red onion recipe looks yummy. I pinned it onto my board for later reference. Thanks for the extention info on pears. We have an OSU extention facility not far from us. My sister used to work for them in high school. Have a wonderful day!
Ooo, that all looks so yummy!
Mmm, Elena, oven baked pears sounds yummy. There are so many wonderful things to do with pears. From that extension site I found another pear site that had all kinds of good recipes. Will have to wait til next year!
I do love pears. You made them looks so yummy.
I've been getting lots of pears from my CSA, and I needed some ideas. This is just in time!
i forget how versatile pears are. it looks like you've done a lot of delicious things with them!
Hey there Miss Lynn! Thank you for stopping by! My favorite food with pears is the one with wine, but the name escapes me! :)
Totally agree about pears, Lynn. I made a pear puree for a cake that roasted the pears first. Delicious! Your recipe for the pears with onions looks wonderful.
Just a note to tell you I have the bookmark on the bulletin board of my new office-crafting room.
It looks beautiful. :)
Thank you, everyone, for dropping by and celebrating the gift of pears with me :) Brenda, I'm so glad the bookmark fits in with your new crafting room. You did a great job with that room, so nice and homey.
I think pears need a month devoted just to them. What do you think Lynn? As a matter of fact, after a quick search, I found out December is National Pear Month!!! Why oh why I don't know:)
You sure have shown them in all their glory and for that I am thrilled and thankful. That link was way cool too:)
Thank you so much for sharing...Happy Autumn!!!
