My microwave is up high, above my head so I have to stand on something to see if stuff boils over. Wow, that makes a mess, so are you saying it was a good project and you will do it again soon? Even when I make jam the regular way on the stove, I still have floors to mop and cupboards to clean. I guess I am just messy,
Joanne, nothing to be afraid of in jam-making in general. Freezer jams are foolproof and you need absolutely no special equipment. But this microwave jam attempt? You're right. Oy. Never again.
Oh dear! That's too funny. Looks like something that would definitely happen to me, especially when trying to make desserts. Thanks so much for sharing on my blog, and I will have to borrow that ribs recipe!
I cook, bake, eat chocolate, and sneak out to Starbucks from northern California, where I live with my family. I wrote a book, Queen of the Castle: 52 Weeks of Encouragement for the Uninspired, Domestically Challenged or Just Plain Tired Homemaker, because I think running a home and loving your family is one of the most important jobs in the world. And some of us? Could use a little help.

Oh no! Looks like the time I put the stick of butter in for too long... Yikes! Yes, paper towels are the best for that kind of stuff.

I'd need to have a comforting glass of wine by my side to clean up that mess!!! I agree, strawberry freezer jam is so much easier, even for me!!!
Kudos to you for trying:)

I've only heard about microwave jam recipes, but I've never seen one. I can't wait to give this a try!
