Chocolate-filled Rolls

Sadly, I'm going to have to give these chocolate-filled rolls a fail.  Not only were they too much dough and not enough chocolate, but they also took a lot of effort

as well as three expensive bittersweet chocolate bars.  Wasted.  Grrrrr.
If you want chocolate bread, try this chocolate chip bread recipe instead.
Meanwhile, I'll be trying to figure out how to get rid of 18 of these.

But at least you tried. I have wondered about chocolate rolls a bunch and if they would be very good.

A bread pudding or a French toast dish might be OK or you might just be wasting more time and ingredients.

You are allowed to throw them away. The earth will not stop spinning, the poor children in the world will neither benefit or be more deprived, and life will go on without these in the kitchen.

Thanks for posting your flops as well as your successes. It's good to know that other cooks get frustrated too. I made a new granola recipe yesterday that was a total flop and it's always a little discouraging to put effort into something that should turn out well (I mean, don't they test these things out before publishing them?) and doesn't live up to what it promises. Hope your Christmas was a good one and Happy New Year!!

DarcyLee, too bad about your granola :( I always wonder about the "don't they test these things first?" question, too. I know everyone has different tastes when it comes to food, but I think there are far too many mediocre recipes floating around.
