Super Simple Chocolate-Orange Truffles

If you happen to have any leftover evaporated milk hanging around -- which you will, if you made this -- whip up a quick batch of these yummy, chocolatey morsels. You need just four ingredients; cute little melon baller and mini cupcake papers are optional.
CHOCOLATE-ORANGE TRUFFLES
1/2 c. evaporated milk
1/4 c. sugar
2 c. chocolate chips
1/2 t. orange extract
itty bitty paper cups, if desired
Bring evaporated milk and sugar to a boil over medium to medium-high heat, stirring constantly. Boil gently for three minutes. Add chocolate chips and orange extract and stir until smooth. (I turned the burner off and did this over the warmed heating element.) Use cute little melon baller, or clean hands, to make into balls when cooled.
Eat.

Hello Lynn, so nice to meet a fellow Californian :) One who is a librarian too. How great is that, my secret dream is to be a librarian.:)
Oh those truffles looks wonderful, I am going to have to try them. I have read both of your recommendations.Loved them both too.
I would love to read anything else you can recommend though. I am looking for something to sink my teeth in this summer. I am going to go though your pages, such lovely recipes. Thanks so much for
stopping by,

Faith, Ingrid -- I think I will never again throw away half a can of evaporated milk :)

Farm Girl -- thanks for stopping by my blog, too. A book I read last year and really enjoyed was called 31 Days of Praise: Enjoying God Anew by Ruth Myers. Have you read that one? Or The Jesus I Never Knew by Philip Yancey? That was really good, too. As you can probably tell, I'm not always reading the absolute most recently released books. As the (volunteer) librarian for our little church, a lot of what I'm reading are books people have donated after they're done with them. So I tend to be a couple years behind. But, a good book is a good book, even if it's been out a while :)

Hi Lynn, I used to read the latest in books, but then I got convicted about how much money I had spent on books and I was not being a good steward. So now I only buy books I love.
In fact, Your book was one of the last ones I bought. I have been going back through what I have. I think the next book I buy will be Stormie O Martians Praying for your adult children. But I thought I would give you a what I am reading right now list.
The Treasure Principle by Randy Alcorn I think I am becoming to greedy and I want to hang on to tightly to things so I needed a good reminder and a good swift kick.:)
I am also reading Stepping Heavenward by Elisabeth Prentiss, just because I love this book and it is one of my treasures.
I am also reading The Seeking Heart by Fenelon
I love Philip Yancy and have read all of them just because I have always been afraid of being a Ladocian Christian so he gets me out of my complacency. I am not familiar with Ruth Myers.
I also love anything by Oz Guinness.
I can't tell you how excited I am that you stopped by and I can talk about books. No one I know hardly reads at all. I think I read to much but never have anyone to talk about books with.
Sorry this is so long
I am so very glad you stopped by today.

Farm Girl, Praying for Your Adult Children is wonderful! I bought that one new :) Stormie Omartian is the best author; I have been loving books on prayer lately. Have you read Every Child Needs a Praying Mom by Fern Nichols (the founder of Moms in Touch prayer ministry)? Another excellent book. Thanks for all your suggestions. I will have to get busy! Hope you find some good books to read for the summer. So fun to have met you :)
