Hello, blog world
Well okay. Here I go. I'm going to do this blogging thing. I'm about as techno-savvy as a mushroom, so this ought to be interesting. I'm actually still figuring out how to use my cell phone (just today I discovered I can take videos with it, as I tried to turn off the speaker phone and what should turn up but some lovely footage of my finger and the kitchen rug). So like I said. This should be interesting.
My hope is to share some favorite recipes, and to hear about your favorites. Seems like a good excuse for all of us to whip up another batch of brownies, if you ask me.

Thanks for visiting my blog. Your book looks great - I plan to look into it.
Thanks, bermudaonion. I'm enjoying your blog, too. Great book review of See You in a Hundred Years. I enjoyed the link you provided to the interview with the author and his wife.
Hi, Lynnie...
The request for bachelor (college student) recipes. we have a standard when the artist hits the road and leaves the fifteen year old and the old man to fend for themselves: we use any of the Ramen soups and frozen chicken to make a poor man's chicken soup. We boil the frozen chicken parts, adding as much as we want to the Ramen. Cost is proabably a couple of bucks and it'll take about ten minutes to get everything done. And, speed is important when the fifteen year old is hovering around the kitchen...

DB, this sounds delicious and quick. Thanks for sharing it. Now the question is . . . how many days in a row have you two eaten this? The artist might be nervous about leaving you alone for more than a weekend.
I'm all for whipping up another batch of brownies. I need no excuse! Bring on the great recipes!!
