Birds, Bees, Berries, and Blooms, it tasted like cooked watermelon rather than fresh -- not the best flavor. The directions were to boil it for quite a while before adding pectin, then for five more minutes after the pectin. I think a shorter boiling time might have yielded tastier results. Oh well, live and learn :)
Well now I know, I have always wanted to try it and to make watermelon rind pickles. I am glad you tried it now I don't have to, I hope you are having a nice summer. :)
I can't fathom taking a perfectly delicious food and working to transform it. This lazy Bumble will stick to spitting seeds and wiping juice off her chin ;0)
The Bumbles, I guess it's the panicked feeling of "How on earth are the two of us going to eat up this ginormous watermelon?" But I am discovering that frozen watermelon cubes, whirred in the blender with a touch of ginger ale and lime juice, make a mighty fine drink :) So that's my current strategy.
Nothing wrong with trying. What was wrong with it. It does look pretty.
